Opening Doors for Open Conversations on Menstruation

Pinkishe Foundation hosted a transformative PinkTalk session titled "Breaking the Silence: Real Women & Parents Discuss Menstruation", dedicated to creating an open and understanding dialogue around menstruation. Supported by Adobe #ProBono and Nasscom Foundation, this session brought together parents and advocates with a shared mission: to make menstruation an approachable and normalized subject for families.

Building a Supportive Community of Parents and Advocates

The session gathered an inspiring panel of speakers, including Mayank Sharma, Rohan Kamat, Abhishek Khare, and insightful parents like Tanya Kapila, Muktadhara Ray, Poonam Singhal, Radhika Shah, and Chaithra M. Each speaker contributed their unique perspective, emphasizing the importance of parental guidance in a girl’s journey through menstrual health. By openly sharing their personal experiences and challenges, these advocates highlighted the need for parents to feel equipped and confident in guiding their daughters.

Breaking the Myths, Embracing the Truths

"Breaking the Silence" addressed a critical gap in education and communication around menstruation, especially in traditional family settings. The event focused on dispelling common myths, fostering awareness, and promoting honest conversations between parents and daughters. With the right information and support, families can eliminate shame and misunderstandings surrounding menstruation, instead embracing it as a natural part of life.

Honoring Our Partners in Menstrual Education

This impactful event would not have been possible without the support of Adobe #ProBono and Nasscom Foundation. Their commitment to social empowerment and education has allowed Pinkishe Foundation to reach more families and break societal taboos around menstruation. Through their partnership, Pinkishe Foundation can further expand its mission to provide free, accessible menstrual education sessions for parents and communities across India.
