Initiated by Dr Shah Khatoon, Assistant Professor at Woxsen School of Liberal Arts & Humanities, this training is a key component of Woxsen University’s social impact program. The program will introduce menstrual health education in five government schools, fostering a supportive environment for community health and women’s empowerment. This partnership reflects a shared commitment to enhancing women’s rights and advancing health education through impactful collaboration.

Purpose of the Training

The training was designed to bridge critical gaps in understanding menstrual hygiene management and women’s health. Participants explored essential topics such as menstrual cycle education, the use of sanitary pads and reusable sanitary pads, and the importance of maintaining proper feminine hygiene. The session also addressed common myths and cultural taboos related to menstruation, aiming to promote period awareness and combat period poverty. The training featured interactive elements designed to engage participants actively. Through these sessions, attendees gained practical tools and strategies for health advocacy and community outreach. Participants developed skills to effectively disseminate menstrual health knowledge, contributing to health awareness and empowerment within their communities.
