Event Details

On September 1, 2024, Pinkishe Pune Team successfully organized the Kaagaz ke Pad newspaper collection drive at Pristine Grandeur Society, Wakad, Pune. This initiative is part of Pinkishe’s ongoing efforts to improve menstrual hygiene and women's health by mobilizing urban communities to combat period poverty and support women's empowerment.

Community Outreach and Health Advocacy

Through active community outreach and health advocacy, a dedicated volunteer leader led an awareness campaign, encouraging residents to donate newspapers regularly. These newspapers are sold, with the proceeds directly funding menstrual health initiatives. These efforts provide sanitary pads, reusable sanitary pads, and other essential feminine hygiene products to women in low-income groups, including domestic workers, gardeners, and cleaners. By enhancing access to menstrual hygiene products, the project is making a direct impact on women’s lives, promoting gender equality and health empowerment.

But this project is more than just a collection drive—it’s a lifeline for women and girls who otherwise struggle with limited access to basic menstrual health resources. The initiative also empowers these women by fostering knowledge and supporting their well-being through sustainable, community-led solutions.
